Solshire refuses to cut players ’salaries

Solskjaer refuses to cut players ’salaries

British Health Secretary Matt Hancock sparked controversy last week when he called on English Premier League players to play their part and agree to cut their pay so that non-player workers are not cut off at a time when the country is fighting the spread of the Corona virus.

Players in the English Premier League earn more than a regular salary of more than the average British employee in years, but Solchar said it is not fair to target players who make attempts to help the health system cope with the virus.

"Football sometimes becomes an easy target," he told Sky Sports on Tuesday. "It is not fair to target any individual or football player ... I know players who are making great efforts to serve society and others are doing a lot to help in facing the crisis."

He continued, "The clubs are negotiating with the players about the contribution they can make. The situation is not easy for anyone and targeting specific people is not fair."

"People make mistakes and from which we learn, now is the time to make correct decisions ... We all want to help the health system and serve the community," the Norwegian coach added.
